The Saucony Shay XC2 is an ultra-lightweight cross country racing shoe suited for 3k to 10k distances. It comes in both spike and spikeless versions. The spike version is suitable for rubber, grass, and soft dirt surfaces, and the spikeless is best for dirt, asphalt, wood, and rubber.
Saucony continues to honor the memory of Ryan Shay with the XC2 racer. The XC 2 receives an upper-only update (the plate, outsole and midsole are unchanged). Saucony keeps the XC2 super lightweight, which is one of the best features of this XC shoe. The upper on the Shay XC2 uses a bootie construction, which wraps around the midfoot providing a secure custom fit on your foot. The Saucony midsole is one of the most comfortable footbeds ever made in cross country running shoes. The dynamic outsole traction on the XC2 will provide strong and tough control on any surface. The spike version includes a spike wrench and twelve 5/16” pyramid spikes.
The Shay XC2 comes with a window where you can place a colored piece of mylar to personalize the shoe. It’s the perfect way to stand out from the crowd, or else create a uniform look for the whole team to boost team spirit.
The Shay XC 2 is available in models for both men and women.
The Shay XC2 is the CURRENT model as of June 2010. It replaced the Shay XC.
