The Saucony Shay XC is a lightweight cross country racing shoe designed for 3k to 10k distances. It is available in both the spike and spikeless/flat versions. The spike version is best suited for grass and rubber surfaces, while the spikeless version is suitable for dirt, asphalt, wood, and rubber.
Saucony named the Shay XC in memory of American long distance runner Ryan Shay. This shoe offers a fantastic performance fit and some serious traction, which makes it a star performer worthy of any elite athlete. The spike version is configured with 6 receptacles per shoe, and includes a spike wrench and twelve 5/16″ pyramid spikes.
The Shay XC is offered in models for both men and women.
The Shay XC model has been DISCONTINUED as of May 2010. Sizing and availability may be limited. It has been replaced with the Shay XC2.
